About CampusQuant

Free, data-first college research. No ads, no paywalls, no fluff — just the numbers that matter.

What We Do

CampusQuant helps students and families answer the most important question in college admissions: Is this college worth it?

We combine admissions data, graduate earnings, net price by income, and ROI calculations into one clean, fast platform. Every number comes from official government data — no surveys, no opinions, no sponsored rankings.

Why We Built This

College is the largest financial decision most families make — often $100,000 to $300,000 over four years. Yet the information available to make this decision is scattered across ad-heavy websites, paywalled rankings, and outdated interfaces.

The data itself is public. The US Department of Education publishes detailed college data through IPEDS and the College Scorecard. The UK government publishes graduate earnings through LEO and admissions data through UCAS. But navigating these raw datasets is impractical for most families.

CampusQuant takes this public data and presents it in a way that's actually useful: clean, fast, and focused on the metrics that matter most — what will it actually cost, and what will graduates actually earn?

What Makes Us Different

Net Price, Not Sticker Price

Most sites show the published tuition. We show what families actually pay — broken down by income bracket. A $80,000/year school might cost $5,000 for a family earning under $48,000.

Earnings by Major

A CS degree and an English degree from the same school have very different ROI. We show earnings data for each major at each college, not just a school-wide average.

ROI, Not Rankings

We don't rank schools by prestige or peer surveys. We calculate payback periods, 10-year ROI, and probability of positive return using Monte Carlo simulations on real earnings data.

US + UK Coverage

We're one of the few platforms covering both US and UK higher education with real outcome data — plus cross-border guides for students considering both.

No Ads, No Paywall

Every page loads fast. No pop-ups, no interstitials, no "sign up to see more." The data is public and we believe access to it should be too.

Government Data Only

Every statistic on CampusQuant comes from official government sources — IPEDS, College Scorecard, UCAS, and LEO. No surveys, no self-reported data, no editorial opinions.

Our Methodology

ROI Calculation

We calculate ROI as: ((Median Earnings - $35K baseline) x 10 years - Total Net Cost) / Total Net Cost. The $35K baseline represents median earnings for a high school graduate. Net cost uses the actual price paid by families in each income bracket, not the published sticker price.

Payback Period

Total net cost divided by the annual earnings premium over the high school baseline. A payback period of "2 years" means a graduate recoups their investment in 2 years of work.

Monte Carlo Simulation

Our ROI calculator runs 10,000 simulated outcomes per college. Each simulation samples earnings from the actual percentile distribution (10th through 90th), applies a graduation probability based on the 6-year rate, and varies time-to-degree. This captures the real uncertainty in college outcomes — not just the average case.

UK Entry Requirements

Institution-level entry requirements are manually curated from official university websites. Subject-specific requirements are verified against published course pages. UCAS tariff points shown in the subjects table represent the average of enrolled students — not the official entry requirement.
